Every process creates something that can be considered as “waste” Not all waste is bad – manure is good for making plants grow – and Nature relies on recycling things. That is all good. The problem comes with man-made waste that Nature can’t cope with, at least in a useful time frame. This waste becomes pollution. This can be anything from polythene that takes a very long time to break down to carbon monoxide from car exhausts that is highly poisonous. Long lasting waste is the worst for the environment. The most notable is waste from nuclear reactors which is highly radioactive and will be so for millions of years. My research has found a way that we can treat that waste and make i non-radioactive so I hope that very soon we will be able to generate nuclear power without leaving so much polluting nuclear waste.
