Question: Light supposedly takes 8 minutes to reach earth, how is this possible in the vacuum of space?

Light travels in photons which have wave and particle characteristics so they do not need a medium to travel through. That means they can travel through the vacuum of space unaffected until they bunp into matter – gas, solid, liquid …..
