      Wow.. really good question. Possibly one more for politicians than scientists … but I certainly have opinions. I think the consumer culture is doing a lot of damage to our environment and our mental and physical well-being. Just making more ‘stuff’ is not the answer. However, I think capitalism can be a powerful tool to bring prosperity to people … hopefully we can learn to use it in a responsible way that doesn’t need us to generate waste and use excessive energy. Scientists can make cleaner energy, but changing culture is a much harder job I think

      Wooowww this is a great question and one that will create debates!!

      I don’t think so because of the way consumer markest is driven by the fact that you need to buy and waste in order for the money flow to keep going which is not all true … I guess I will leave it here but we need to change our attitude in order to save our planet and have a sane community that think about each other rather than against!!
