• Question: Do you think it will ever be possible to produce kinetic energy telepathically?

      The human brain uses about 20 watts of power .. so assuming there was such a thing as telekinectic power (!!!) realistically you wouldn’t be able to transfer that much energy to an object.

      However, you could use technology that measured your brain patterns and cleverly worked out what you wanted to move and used another power source to increase the power available to do it! 🙂

      To add to this – the human body gives off about 100 watts of heat (depends how big you are), but it is difficult to convert heat energy to movement and kinetic energy…..

      Why not … but the trick we will use computers, clever processing and wireless connections to send the information from the brain to a different device … so yes but not like in sci-fi movies for now!!

      It is possible to transfer energy through various wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation and it is possible tol find a way of using our brain waves to power things. One of my colleagues in the department of cybernetics at Reading, Kevin Warwick works in this area and has done things like have an implant that means he can open his garage door by thinking about it. That was a bit of a publcity stunt but his work will one day help paralysed people to be able to move again. Look up Kevin Warwick at:
