If people do not stop hunting them for their skins or other parts and organs then they will be; however, there are so many initiatives and protection projects are taking place to ensure this will not happen and I think more people are aware now of the dangers of random hunting and not taking care of our environment!!

No – we care about them too much to let that happen. They are endangered, but we know that, and so we can do something about it. More worrying is the thought that there are species out there that we don’t know about, or which we don’t know are endangered.

I really really hope they do not but they may yet become extinct in the wild unless China imposes a total ban on the use of tiger parts in traditional Chinese medicine. Already the Bali, Caspian and Javan tiger sub-species are extinct, never to return, and the Sumatran tiger is on the verge of extinction. TIgers breed only slowly and they mainly live in densely populated regions so habitat pressure is also a huge problem. Captive breeding may be the only way to keep the tiger going until these two threats to tigers are dealt with.

Akram Gill and Laurence already answered this question very well. I hope we manage to save them 🙂
