I have never done that since I am an Electronic Engineer and energy saver not an animal killer and I don’t think I will ever be able to 🙂

Never! However, until regulations about the LD50 (the dose of a drug that kills 50% of a set number of animals) are changed, pharmaceutical companies are forced to do this. The terrible thing about this is that, the safer a drug is, the more the animals must be forced to take sometimes dying from physical damage from the sheer quantity of substance they are forced to take than its toxicity. It costs a lot to keep and use animals for testing and I can assure you that pharmaceutical companies would do anything not to have to do this.
