• Question: hello laurence, what is your favourite subject to do in science?and why?

      Actually I am an “organic chemist” which doesn’t mean what you might think it means. I deal with molecules which contain carbon – the very building blocks of life itself – everything from sugars, fats and proteins down to oils, perfumes and medicines. I fact, much of my research is in the area of trying to find cures for cancer and AIDS. Maybe I and my research group will never individually find cure but our work will help others to do so. It is fun and so satisfying to know we might do some good.
