Quite a few – some of them just rubbish ones to pay my way through uni. Professionally I have had 3 jobs – I was an Energy Manager for our local council when I first graduated, then I was an engineering consultant for 3 years, and then I became a lecturer in 2000.

After my PhD studies I had a post-doctoral position in Paris, a junior lectureship at Manchester, a lectureship and college fellowship at Oxford and a professorship at Reading. I am also an editor of a scientific journal and the chief scietific officer of a company called TechnoPep. I am also the governor of a school (althogh I don’t get paid for that).

I worked in shops and factories a bit while I was in 6th form. I also worked as a musician for a couple of years during my degree. Now I’m a PhD student which is half way between having a job and being a student! I’ll have to get a proper job soon 🙂
