  Do you mean a cube rather than a square? Anyway, I really wouldn’t know – it might depend if we were a life form still based on carbon. Some people think life forms based on silicon might be possible because it bonds like carbon in many ways. If we can have cubic planets, I don’t see why we should stick to the chemistry of carbon for life. The we might need molecules other than oxygen or water to exist.

  It’s interesting to think about why the earth isn’t a cube … it’s because it’s spinning. Spinning things around tends to make them circular because you put the same amount of force all away around the edge.
  
  It’s like when you see a pizza chef making the pizza base by spinning it around on his hand… that’s why it ends up round 🙂

  That will be interesting to see how water behaves at the edge of the cube 🙂 But I guess it will be different since we have gravity and the question is what will change mathematically because all we know about earth rotation and spinning around itself or different planets is for it being a sphere or near a sphere so maybe we should see if using equations we can visualise what happens.
  
  The rotation of earth around the sun or itself is based on it being round hence forces and gravity distribution is not random!
  
  I feel that answering these questions is creating new questions but this is really fun and interesting 😀

  Nicolaus Copernicus (a Polish astronomer) discovered that that the Earth rotates around the Sun, and Christopher Collumbus discovered that the world was a lot bigger than people first thought. We had discovered by the middle ages that you could not fall off the side of the Earth – it wasnt flat and it didn’t have edges. I’m not sure that a cube could spin around the sun in the same way as a sphere, but if it could gravity would change over different parts of the Earth and make life very unpredictable. 😮
