Personally – I am trying to lower my own carbon footprint through reduced car use, better home insulation and renewable energy devices. For my research we need solutions now (and for the future) to deal with heavier rainfall, hotter summers, drought and extreme weather – and all this needs to be provided in a low carbon way (this is where my research gets stuck in). I try to reduce the amount of energy it takes to make roads, bridges, houses etc, and to use them.
