• Question: Regarding this question - 'As we can't see the limits of our universe, is it possible our universe is collapsing?' But surely the light reaching us from the furthest galaxies is exceedingly old and therefore the redder light could in fact have turned more blue?

I see what you mean… you are assuming that galaxies are accelerating, so that older galaxies travel more slowly, which is in fact true! (there were some observations of this in 1998)

However, the light is still redder than we expect it to be if the galaxy was standing still, its just slightly less red than closer/newer galaxies.

      Good point though! 🙂
