• Question: What came first, the chicken or the egg?

      This is really one of those unanswerable philosophical questions BUT chickens are birds and birds evolved from reptiles – feathers are simply modified scales. Dinosaurs laid eggs, then (we have now discovered) there were feathered dinosaurs, then we had archeopteryx, posssibly the first reconisably bird-like dinosaur and finally true birds. So my answer would be the egg came first.

      🙂 ha ha good question and Laurence thought hard about the answer….
      I would say the chicken because a baby chick from an egg would be too vulnerable to survive without the protection of the mother hen 🙂
