It is always biological or chemical engineering but recently astrophysics have been amazing interesting news 🙂

I think the scientists at the Large Hadron Collider are very close to finding the Higg’s boson which will help to confirm a really big theory called ‘the standard model’ that people have been working on for years 🙂

Ask any scientist and they wil tell you that their field is close to a major breakthrough. All the big questions come down to very fundamental questions. Why and how are we here and how are we made. Biologist and chemists can (possibly) find answers to the first two and physicists the last one.

I see Jack has mentioned the large hadron collidor as one of the most complex – and certainly the most expensive – experiments ever carried out. I just ask myself why the physicists didn’t practice on small hadrons and then build up through medium hadrons before trying to collide large hadrons 🙂 🙂

Wow – there are majot breakthroughs all the time. Top topics at the moment which are snapped up by the media are medically related, or carbon focused, but others get there too….
