I know this might sounds like a made up answer but honestly Yes I did and I always wanted to be able to make stuff and show people how and why it was made 🙂

      How little?

When I was really little I probably wanted to be a nurse, then a teacher, then a chef, then a firefighter, then the tooth fairy, and maybe even an artist.

When I was in high school I definately knew I would be an engineer – maths, physics and chemistry were my favourite subjects.

I don’t think I thought about being a scientist until I was about 16… Before then I think I changed my mind every week! I’m quite indecisive 🙂

When I was little I wanted to be an artist – I loved drawing and painting. Then somebody told me you had to study after school and I didn’t want to do that. Then I went to secondary school and I had an absolutely fantastic chemistry teacher – appropriately he was called Mr Good – and from that day just wanted to be a chemist. So much for not wanting to study after school!! I went to university and did a BSc for 3 years, then an MSc for 1 year then a PhD in 2 years. Then the fun really began. In the meantime I had also made it up to the level of a semi-professional footballer (goalkeeper) but I made the right decision to stay a scientist as I wouldn’t have been good enough to earn a living beng a footballer.
